Hi my name is Sarah. I studied a Bachelor of Special Education about twelve years ago and then went on to teach with Education Queensland for five years. I have taught a mix of mainstream and special education students, many with very challenging behaviour difficulties. I took a break from teaching to have kids and stayed at home for a few years. Gradually I started doing one on one work with families of children either newly diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder or with young children with challenging behavioural needs. This led to my small business Tippy Toes Learning Centre ( and further developed my interest in early intervention. I have done lots of independent research and some workshops in this field as I really love working directly with families. I started this Masters degree to learn more about contemporary early intervention and also to learn about teaching adults and delivering professional development.
